This is a bold and flavorful twist on classic chicken salad. It perfectly balances sweet honey, spicy hot sauce, creamy dressing, and crunchy vegetables. It's quick to make and versatile for sandwiches, salads, or lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1-2 tablespoons hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot or Sriracha)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup finely diced celery
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped roasted almonds or pepitas (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using plain cooked chicken, toss it in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. If using rotisserie chicken, you can skip this step.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, honey, hot sauce, lime juice, and Dijon mustard. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken, diced celery, red onion, and fresh herbs to the bowl with the dressing.
  4. Gently fold all ingredients together until evenly coated.
  5. Let the salad rest for 10-15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

For best results, use pre-cooked or rotisserie chicken. Adjust hot sauce to control spice level. Salad can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
