This mint chocolate bark is an easy, no-bake treat with a crisp snap and cool mint flavor. Swirled dark and white chocolate is topped with crushed peppermint candies for a festive and impressive homemade gift or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces (about 450g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped baking bars
  • 12 ounces (about 340g) white chocolate chips or chopped baking bars
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes, divided
  • 1-2 drops green gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a 13x18 inch baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler. Stir until smooth, then pour onto the prepared sheet. Spread into a thin, even layer. Let set for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Melt the white chocolate in a clean double boiler. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract and green food coloring, if using.
  4. Dollop the white chocolate over the semi-sweet layer. Use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the chocolates together.
  5. Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies and a pinch of sea salt over the top, pressing lightly to adhere.
  6. Refrigerate the bark for at least 1 hour, or until completely firm.
  7. Lift the bark from the pan and break into pieces by hand or with a knife.

Notes

Ensure all equipment is completely dry to prevent chocolate from seizing. For clean breaks, score the bark lightly with a knife before fully setting. Store in an airtight container in a cool place or the refrigerator.
