Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wedge aged cheddar (hard cheese)
  • 1 wheel brie (soft cheese)
  • 1 wedge blue cheese or pepper jack (fun cheese)
  • 1 log goat cheese (spreadable cheese)
  • 1/2 lb hard salami or pepperoni, sliced
  • 1/4 lb prosciutto
  • 1/4 lb soppressata or dry-cured sausage
  • Assorted crackers and toasted baguette slices
  • 1 cup cucumber rounds and bell pepper strips
  • 1 cup red and green grapes
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots or cranberries
  • 1 cup Marcona almonds or candied pecans
  • 1/2 cup Castelvetrano olives
  • 1/4 cup cornichons or pickled vegetables
  • 2 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp fig jam or pepper jelly
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Anchor your board by placing small bowls for dips, mustard, jam, olives, and pickles on the surface.
  2. Unwrap and place the cheeses around the board, spaced apart. Cut a few slices or wedges into one or two cheeses to make them inviting.
  3. Add the meats by fanning out salami slices, folding prosciutto into ribbons, and clustering them near the cheeses.
  4. Fill in gaps with crackers and toasted baguette slices to create lines and sections.
  5. Fill all remaining empty spaces with piles of grapes, apple slices, nuts, dried fruit, and fresh vegetables.
  6. Garnish with fresh herb sprigs. Add small spoons to the mustard and jam bowls. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a true football theme, use team-colored items like red cherry tomatoes and green grapes. All components can be prepped ahead and assembled just before guests arrive. Ensure there are enough cheese knives and spreaders for serving.
