Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lump crabmeat, picked over for shells
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup (about 4 ounces) freshly grated sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 1.5 to 2-quart baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the cheddar, Parmesan, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, smoked paprika, and cayenne (if using). Stir until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gently fold in the lump crab meat and chopped chives, being careful not to break up the crab chunks.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are bubbling and the top is golden in spots.
  7. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with extra chives before serving warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese is fully softened. Do not overmix after adding the crab. Dip can be assembled and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Serve with baguette slices, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
