This elegant yet simple appetizer features a warm, molten wheel of brie topped with a sweet-tart cranberry sauce and toasted nuts. It's a perfect balance of creamy, tangy, and crunchy flavors, ideal for holiday gatherings or a special weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel of brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • For serving: sliced baguette, water crackers, apple slices, or pear slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small oven-safe dish.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cranberry sauce, toasted nuts, maple syrup, and thyme.
  3. Spoon the cranberry mixture over the top of the brie wheel.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until cheese is soft and topping is bubbling.
  5. Let rest for 3 to 5 minutes before transferring to a serving plate. Serve warm with crackers or fruit.

Notes

For easy cleanup and serving, bake directly in a small cast iron skillet or ceramic dish. Let brie sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before baking for best melting. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
