A classic, elegant dessert that's perfect for any occasion. Juicy strawberries are dipped in a rich, glossy chocolate shell and served with a fluffy, tangy cheesecake dip. It's simple to make yet impressively delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (about 20-25 medium berries), with stems intact if possible
  • 8 ounces high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate baking bars, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or refined coconut oil (optional)
  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cold heavy whipping cream
  • A tiny pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep the strawberries. Gently rinse strawberries and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Let them air-dry on a paper towel-lined tray for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the cheesecake dip. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. Add sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until fully combined.
  3. In a separate clean bowl, beat the cold heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until no white streaks remain. Cover and refrigerate.
  4. Melt the chocolate. Place chopped chocolate (and coconut oil, if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second bursts, stirring vigorously after each, until chocolate is mostly melted. Stir until completely smooth.
  5. Dip the strawberries. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Hold a strawberry by its stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, coating about 3/4 of the way up. Let excess drip off and place on the prepared sheet. Repeat with remaining berries.
  6. Let them set. Allow the chocolate covered strawberries to set at room temperature until firm, about 20-30 minutes. For a faster set, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy. Arrange the set strawberries on a platter with the bowl of chilled cheesecake dip in the center. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. The dip can be made a few hours ahead. For best texture, enjoy the strawberries the same day they are made.
