Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz (2 blocks) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 4–5 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced
- 3 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup bacon bits (optional)
- 2 Tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped (for coating)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Mix until well blended using a hand or stand mixer.
- Fold in diced jalapeños, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and bacon bits (if using). Mix evenly.
- Cover and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.
- Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into 1-inch balls using your hands.
- In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs and chopped cilantro. Roll each cheese ball in the coating and place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Chill coated cheese balls for at least 30 more minutes before serving. Serve cold or slightly cool with crackers or veggies.
Notes
For gluten-free cheese balls, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed rice cereal. To adjust spice level, leave seeds in for extra heat or swap in mild peppers. For vegetarian, omit bacon. For keto, use pork rinds as coating instead of breadcrumbs.
