Description

This Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan delivers all the comfort of the classic dish in just 30 minutes. With a golden Parmesan crust, gooey melted mozzarella, and minimal oil, it’s the perfect easy weeknight dinner that feels indulgent but is surprisingly light.


Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds total)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray or avocado oil spray

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by pounding to ½-inch thickness and patting dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder mixed together.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, then egg, then press firmly into the panko-Parmesan mixture.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Spray basket with oil and place breaded chicken in a single layer.
  5. Spray tops of chicken with oil and air fry for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Flip chicken, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese, and air fry for another 2-4 minutes until cheese is melted and chicken reaches 165°F internally.

Notes

For best results, don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
